About Your Results

Let’s take a look at each question and take note of why it is so important to great leadership:

  1. It should never be lonely at the top, you should bring your team with you!
  2. There is a constant debate about how close you should get to your team. The truth is, if you don’t fully connect with your team you will never actually know them well enough to lead them, motivate them, and be able to give and receive constructive feedback!
  3. Taking notes is just one of many indications you are listening to the person speaking. Listening is one of the most important indications of great leadership, one of the attributes most requested by team members! Additionally, giving your time and attention to another person is one of the greatest signs of respect one person can give to another.
  4. Even leaders should continuously strive to improve. By seeking feedback the leader is not only instilling trust in their team members, but they are also encouraging others to do the same.
  5. The greatest leaders know the team should feel like the leader is willing to be in the trenches with them, that when they need help the leader will step in to give a helping hand if they can.
  6. Managers push, Leaders lead by example... enough said!
  7. Leaders should always understand their weaknesses while working to further strengthen the things they excel at. Don’t waste time trying to battle your weaknesses, instead find a complementary teammate that is strong in the areas you falter.
  8. A leader can have talent, opportunity, etc, but without passion to fuel them, they will never be as successful, effective or great as leaders with passion. If you are leading a team, project or business and you don’t have passion, you may need to reevaluate what you are doing.
  9. The most powerful part of being a leader is to lift others up. To do this you must be vested in the future of your team, connected to them and their dreams and passions. The positive side effect is your team becomes vested in your future and more loyal to your vision.
  10. This is the most telling question of the quiz. It indicates your self-awareness as a leader. If you are an effective leader, connected to your team, you should unequivocally know the answer, because you have already asked for feedback and constructive criticism, actually listened when others have spoken, and are not alone on your perch on the top.
